Switzerland is located in the heart of Europe. Is is a landlocked country geographically divided between the Alps, the Swiss Plateau and the Jura, spanning an area of 41,285 km2 (15,940 sq mi) and a population of 8 million inhabitants (from www.wikipedia.org).Its capital is Bern and the largest cities include Basel, Zurich and Geneva. Switzerland comprises four main linguistic and cultural regions: German, French, Italian and the Romansh-speaking valleys. (from www.wikipedia.org)

The world traveler entered on the 25th of July 2013 Switzerland (HB9) in Rheinfelden, a historical city on the river Rhine. It was mentioned first in 851 and due to its strategic location on the Rhine served long time as fortress.The beautiful old town invites the traveller to have a coffe on the main street, surrounded of buildings with a history of several hundreds of years.

Our world traveller continued its journey through the cantons of Argau, Zurich and Thurgau to the famous Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen. The 150 m (450 ft) wide and 23 m (75 ft) high falls with an average water flow of 250 m³/s are a must for all tourists.

Heading further east twowards Liechtenstein, the traveller stopped in St. Gallen with its Abbey of St. Gall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Abbey od St. Gall was one of the most powerful abbey's north of the Alpes.

In the Swiss city of Buchs, the traveler left Switzerland after a journey of 250 km.
